1. Information We Collect

We collect analytics data through Google Analytics 4: pages visited, time on site, and clicks on product and outbound links. Google sets cookies to do this and processes the data on its own terms, including your approximate location and device information. See Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not run a mailing list, and we do not collect email addresses through this site. If you email us, we hold that message in an ordinary inbox and use it only to reply to you.

2. Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and the price you pay is the same either way.

Affiliate links are marked as such at the point where they appear, not only here. When you click one, you pass through our own /go/ redirect, which sends you to the retailer and lets us see which links get used. We do not pass any personal information to the retailer; they set their own cookie to attribute the sale, on their own terms.

What this does not buy. No retailer or manufacturer pays for a listing, a rating, or a place on this site. We have no sponsored posts and no paid placements. If that ever changes, it will be labelled on the item itself and stated here. A commission never affects what we list or what we say about it — including when we say a product is not certified to the standard it is marketed against.

3. How We Use Your Data

Analytics data tells us which content and products people find useful, so we can write more of what helps. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the services named in this policy.

4. Cookies and Your Choices

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets cookies as described above. You can block them with your browser's settings, a content blocker, or Google's opt-out add-on; the site works normally without them. Your dark-mode preference is kept in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.

5. Independence

BalconySolarHQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to UL Standards & Engagement, UL LLC (UL Solutions), or any manufacturer or retailer named on this site. We report on the UL 3700 outline and on products claiming to meet it; we do not certify anything, and we are not a testing body.
